How to Log Salesforce Calls by Voice with CarPlay

By the SpeakCRM team · 5 min read

The single biggest reason CRM data goes stale is friction: a rep finishes a call, has 12 minutes until the next meeting, and logging the call means parking, opening Salesforce, and typing. So it doesn't happen. Logging Salesforce calls by voice removes that friction entirely — the call gets logged the moment it ends, while the details are fresh and the rep is still in the car.

What you need

Step 1: Connect once

Your Salesforce admin connects the org through the SpeakCRM admin console with a single OAuth flow and chooses which profiles and roles get access. Reps then sign in on the mobile app with their Salesforce credentials. That's the entire setup.

Step 2: Log a call by voice

After a meeting, tap the mic in CarPlay (or open the app) and say it naturally:

"Log a call with Sara Smith at Mitchell & Co. — discussed renewal, she wants a proposal by Friday."

SpeakCRM finds the right contact, records the call activity in Salesforce with your note, and confirms out loud. No screens, no typing.

Step 3: Create the follow-up on the spot

The best time to set a follow-up is right after the call. Just say "Remind me to send Sara the proposal Friday" and SpeakCRM creates the task in Salesforce, due Friday. A good assistant will even offer the follow-up proactively after you log the call.

Step 4: Check what's next

Before pulling away, ask "What's on my calendar this afternoon?" or "What's my pipeline look like?" to get a spoken rundown — so you walk into the next meeting prepared instead of scrambling.

Why voice beats typing for field reps

It's not just convenience. Calls logged in the moment are more accurate and more complete than ones reconstructed hours later — which means cleaner pipeline data and forecasts your managers can actually trust. And it gives reps their drive time back as selling time. For more on the bigger picture, see what a voice AI assistant for Salesforce does.
